Privacy Policy for Kuripu – Quick Notes

Kuripu – Quick Notes ("the Extension") is developed and maintained by Jeffry Rajan.
This Privacy Policy explains how the Extension handles user data.

1. Information Collection

Kuripu does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information.

The Extension stores the following data locally on the user’s device using the Chrome Storage API:

• Notes created by the user

• Tags associated with notes

• Version history of notes

• User preferences (e.g., dark mode settings)

If the user uses the "Save Selection as Note" feature, selected webpage text is stored locally as a note.

No data is transmitted to external servers.

2. How Data Is Used

All stored data is used solely to provide the core functionality of the Extension:

• Creating and editing notes

• Searching notes

• Managing version history

• Customizing appearance settings

Data is processed locally within the browser.

3. Data Storage and Retention

All data is stored locally on the user’s device using Chrome’s Storage API.

Data remains on the device until:

• The user deletes it manually, or

• The Extension is uninstalled

Uninstalling the Extension removes stored data.

4. Permissions Justification

Kuripu uses the following Chrome permissions:

• storage — to save and manage notes locally

• clipboardWrite — to allow users to copy notes to their clipboard

These permissions are used strictly for core functionality.

5. Third-Party Sharing

Kuripu does not share, sell, rent, or transfer user data to third parties.

6. Analytics and Tracking

Kuripu does not use analytics tools, tracking technologies, advertising services, or third-party scripts.

7. Remote Code

Kuripu does not load or execute remote code.
All scripts and resources are packaged within the Extension.

8. User Rights

Because all data is stored locally:

• Users have full control over their data

• Users may delete notes at any time

• Users may uninstall the Extension to remove stored data

9. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time.
Any updates will be reflected on this page with a revised effective date.
